I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called - His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.
I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now He is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else - not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made Him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is His body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with Himself.
Ephesians 1:18-23
When troubles come (and they most certainly will) we are to pray for spiritual discernment instead of praying for supernatural rescue. This helps us to increase our knowledge of God. Have you been in a period of spiritual drought? Don't blame God! He has provided the classroom of life, and His Word to teach you how to pass the exam by reliance upon His power.
I have failed much spiritual testing in life simply because I tried to solve everything myself instead of turning it over to God's leadership. He has the power, knowledge, wisdom, and grace to solve any problem if I just have faith enough to ask.
Whatever you are facing today, be encouraged to ask God for His direction. Use this time to GROW! He never fails His children who ask. Knowing the perplexity of current world events, I hope it is a huge comfort to realize that Jesus is head over everything, and there is no authority more powerful than Him! He soothes all hurts, changes doubt and fear to hope, leaves the ninety-nine sheep to go looking to restore that one who is lost.
Remember, God has a plan:
And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ - everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan. Ephesians 1:10-11
Right now it may seem that the whole world is quaking with wars and rumors of wars, but just as salvation is for everyone, God said,
"I am placing a stone in Jerusalem [Jesus] that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. But anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced." Romans 9:33
