Prayer | SCOTUS | Dobbs vs. Jackson

This is a plea for believers to unite in corporate prayer regarding an extremely important case to be heard this Wednesday, December 1, 2021 by our United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS). Many of you have been following Dobbs vs. Jackson Mississippi anti-abortion case and realize that this case ruling by SCOTUS may overturn Roe vs. Wade on abortion.

The status of fetuses being human children from God's viewpoint is supported in the Bible.

  • Innocence and God's Purpose -

(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth:) ~ Romans 9:11

God fashions each of us in the womb and notes the absence of evil or good at that stage of human development. By His design we are created as unique individuals and gifted according to his purposes.

God assigns us His calling upon our lives. For example, God used three world leaders as His Man of the Hour at different times in history; and all three were pagan idol worshippers.

Pharoah, whose heart was very hardened toward God's people at the time of the Exodus from Egypt, was marked by God:

For the scripture saith unto Pharoah, Even for this same purpose I have raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. ~ Romans 9:17

King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, was destined by God to attack and capture God's people, the Israelites, as judgement for their unrepentant sins. King Cyrus of Persia, was God's man who would by kingly decree set in motion the return of the Israelites to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of God's destroyed temple.

That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. ~ Isaiah 44:28

In each of the above cases, God predestined these men before birth to attain great power as world leaders and to accomplish His plans. In the case of Pharoah, he never repented of his evil ways and died in unbelief of our Almighty God. Nebuchadnezzar eventually did recognize God as the one true God. Notice that both outcomes brought glory to God. That should make us quake at the practice of abortion in our country. To rob God of glory is not tolerated by God. And make no mistake; what goes on in the U.S. sets the world stage, as the world is always watching us.

  • Abominations that stir up God's anger:

Murder of the innocents is considered an abomination to God, as in His view it is equal to idolatry and sacrifice to idols as worship. Here is a link to a previous post titled Lessons from Old Lions . Although fetus sacrifice to idols was not mentioned in 2 Chron. chapter 33, it does refer to the anger of God when innocent children are murdered.

To summarize God's view of abortion; it is abomination in His sight - murder of innocent real human beings that He is busy creating in the womb for His divine purposes according to His plans for each life and for His glory! God also exacts a penalty for unrepented national sins. He issues warnings against sinful rebellion to a population:

What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction (evil ones):

And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy (ones called to righteousness), which he had afore prepared unto glory. ~ Romans 9:22-23

This brief post regarding the sanctity of life in the womb is only meant to introduce the seriousness of the abortion issue and to plead for earnest and diligent prayer for the saving of many innocent lives, according to God's will and His Word. Join me, Church, in prayer for the unborn and for the power and influence of God's Spirit to prevail in the hearts and minds of the sitting judges at SCOTUS:

Prayer:

Father in Heaven above, please hear our prayers in the name of Jesus, who died for our sins such as abortion, and who was raised by You and lives today as our King of Kings with all power and glory. Hear us, Father God! We plead and intercede for those who are still in the womb who have no voice. Please be present at this case on Wednesday. May Your Holy Spirit convince the Supreme Court members that legalized abortion has brought a grievous travesty of injustice upon our innocent babies, our families, and our nation. It exposes our immorality to the world, and we pray for forgiveness and repent of supporting this horrific practice.

We declare that the rights of the unborn prevail above the rights of women, who seek a permanently disastrous solution to a temporary problem! Cut off those in high places who favor legalized abortion forever. We declare victory for the unborn today, King Jesus!! Amen!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ~ Ephesians 6:10-18
